I went on a girls-night-out trip to the movies last night. I always have fun when we do that. Unfortunately, our movie selection turned out to be a huge disappointment.

Cloverfield was a waste of time! It wasn't scary. It wasn't funny. It wasn't even entertaining. I still don't understand why a guy running for his life would be carrying a video camera and filming everything-- except for the monster. How dumb! It was kinda cool to watch the Statue of Liberty's head roll down the street though.

Next we saw 27 Dresses. I had a lot more hope for this one-- but was again disappointed. The acting sucked. It wasn't sad or dramatic. The best part was the couple singing Benny & the Jets in the bar.

I'm with you. We decided to go to a movie on Monday. I wanted to see Atonement or PS I Love You, but I was outvoted by my sons. We ended up at Cloverfield. Blech. I hated it.

Cloverfield gets my vote worst movie of 08. And there's a ton of 08 left. It will beat them all.

i think you are right. we could make a better movie following each other around with video cameras.

Thanks for those reviews.....! You've saved me some money for sure. Haven't seen too many movies this year, but Juno was good, it's worth seeing. I also saw "No Country for Old Men", and I wouldn't have gone if my husband hadn't wanted to see it so bad. I didn't like it at all. My husband called it the "best movie of the decade". Go figure. It's all in the eye of the beholder I suppose.
