Show us something you think isn't written about enough.
The plight of the pitbull. Sure, you hear all kinds of horror stories about people being attacked, but did you know that many of those reports are inaccurate?
Pitbulls are loving, loyal dogs that have been given bad reputation. Because of this bad reputation, many of these poor dogs are unable to get into loving environments.
As I've blogged before, I volunteer with Missouri Pitbull Rescue. This has been one of the best decisions i've made for myself. I really enjoy the interaction with all the dogs. I feel like I'm making a difference in their lives, and they are making one in mine.
Sometimes, I wish I could do more for the dogs. Right now, MPR has made a wish list of items that each dog needs. My goal is to tell people about the items that are needed and get as many donations as possible. Also, MPR has set up a way to make a donation in someone's elses name or honor for the holidays. Rather than receive gifts this year, I'd like to have the needy pitbulls get what they need. I don't think I say that enough, or that we hear that enough from other people.
You can help Missouri Pitbull Rescue earn money, just by going out to dinner! (or lunch) Just print off the coupon, take it with you on November 15 and Uno Chicago Grill will donate up to 20% of your check to MPR!

Check it out!

Scoot for a Cure is coming soon! We're still trying to register more riders and get donations. Pass the word along!
Yesterday my hubby and I switched cell phone service and got new phones. What do you do with the old one?
I've found something to do with our drawer full of old cellphones!
NCADV has a recycling program for used cellphones. The phones provide help for domestic violence victims in emergency situations. NCADV and The Body Shop have a pre-paid mailer to send in your deactivated cellphone, so it costs nothing plus its a tax-deductible donation. Its a great recycling program!
Scoot for a Cure is closing in! Donations are now being accepted online at ScootKC on the homepage [lefthand side]. All proceeds go to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. If you ride a scooter and want to join us, there's a link to register too! Check out the forum for details.
